Abstract

The spate of insecurity in Nigeria has given rise to concerns about the security architecture of the country. This has called for a reform of the nation's security sector education, specifically that of the military. This paper argued that such reform must take onboard an assessment and improvement of the gender practices and frameworks of the military. The paper also argued that the existing gender sensitive security sector reforms have not been effective in Nigeria because of the digital gap in military activities, including education and training and operations. The paper concluded that the Nigerian security sector be reformed with a view to enhancing the digitisation of the operational response to security challenges in the country. The authors draw from existing literature in advancing their argument.
